Plot:
Their chat rooms and e-mails are encrypted; only a few know of their real identities and digital meeting places. They are the source of digital piracy, and their pirated copies are being spread around the world within minutes. The motivation is not profit, but respect and fame. It is about being a part of an underground movement called ‘The Scene’.

What sounds like a conspiracy theory is the real story of a sworn subculture, and their roots lie in the 50s. The early hacker culture was convinced that knowledge and information are free and should remain free. Even today, ‘The Scene’ provides the initial distribution of digital copies of all kinds behind closed doors. They call it “the race”, and it is a race for the fastest bootleg. Their illegal actions earn them the intention of FBI and Interpol, who hunt The Scene in a game of hide-and-seek, which is also a part of their race. Nevertheless, The Scene has existed for more than 25 years. And a part of their fascination is to be a secret elite. Their knowledge is not only free, but powerful.
